Program 01 · Foundational Stage

Gastro-Barrier Support

The foundational step of the Via Vitae system, applied when the primary load is related to the gastrointestinal tract, barrier function, and food tolerance.

When this is relevant

Signs worth paying attention to

These conditions may be connected to the characteristics of mucosal barrier function, microbiotic balance, enzymatic activity, and bile flow regulation. Together they affect nutrient absorption, the systemic inflammatory background, and the body's tolerance of subsequent programs.

Pay attention if you notice
Heaviness or discomfort after eating
Bloating or a sensation of distension
Unstable or irregular stool
Sensitivity or intolerance to certain foods
General GI discomfort without a clear cause
Skin reactions linked to diet or digestion

What this means

A barrier layer that shapes
everything downstream

These conditions may reflect the particular characteristics of mucosal barrier function, microbiotic balance, enzymatic activity, and bile flow regulation. This affects nutrient absorption, the level of systemic inflammation, and the body's readiness for other programs — which is why stabilising this layer is often the most useful starting point.

Program goal

Mucosal integrity
and barrier stability

The task of the program is to support the integrity of the mucosal lining, stabilise barrier function, and create conditions for a more stable relationship between the body and food. The program can be used as a standalone step or as preparation for subsequent Via Vitae programs.

How this works

A core with situational extensions

The program is built around two core products, with optional modules added where the situation calls for it. Not all modules are used at once — each depends on the current picture.

Foundation

Mucosal support and barrier regulation

The program is built on two core products that work together to stabilise the mucosal lining and support barrier function. Gastroleucin focuses on local GI regulation, while Gynura Balance provides broader metabolic and barrier support with gentle anti-inflammatory action.

These two products form the consistent foundation of the program — present regardless of which additional modules may be needed.

Module A · When indicated

Bile Flow Support

Signs of disrupted bile flow or fatty liver background

Heptaril is added when there are indicators of impaired bile flow or a steatosis background. It supports bile production and flow, helping to reduce the hepatic load that can affect the gut-liver axis and compound barrier dysfunction.

Module B · When indicated

Enzymatic Support

Signs of enzymatic insufficiency or pancreatic component

Pancregin is considered when there are signs of reduced enzymatic activity or a pancreatic component to the digestive pattern. It supports the enzymatic environment required for effective nutrient breakdown and absorption.

Via Vitae Products

Products used in this program

Each product has a specific role. The core two are always present; modules are added based on the current state and individual picture.

Gastroleucin
Core · Always Used
Gastroleucin

The central product for mucosal support and local GI regulation. Targets the integrity of the gut lining, helping to reduce irritation and create a more stable digestive environment. The primary tool for the barrier function focus of the program.

Via Vitae
Core · Always Used
Gynura Balance

Provides metabolic and barrier support alongside Gastroleucin, with gentle regulation of the inflammatory background. Works systemically to complement the local action of Gastroleucin and improve the body's overall digestive stability.

Via Vitae
Module A · When Indicated
Heptaril

Added when there are signs of disrupted bile flow or a fatty liver background. Supports bile production and the gut-liver axis — which, when compromised, can amplify mucosal instability and food intolerance. Used as part of the program when the hepatic component is present.
Not used simultaneously with Pancregin unless both components are clearly indicated.

Via Vitae
Module B · When Indicated
Pancregin

Used when signs of enzymatic insufficiency or a pancreatic component are present. Supports the enzymatic environment needed for effective nutrient breakdown and absorption, reducing the digestive burden that can contribute to barrier dysfunction.
Added based on current state — not a default element of every program run.

What to expect

Changes arrive gradually

01

Less post-meal discomfort

Reduced heaviness and discomfort after eating is often among the first noticeable changes — typically appearing within the first one to two weeks.

02

Reduced bloating

A gradual decrease in bloating and the sensation of distension as the mucosal environment becomes more stable and the microbiotic balance begins to shift.

03

More stable stool

Increased regularity and predictability in stool pattern. Often reported alongside improved food tolerance as barrier stability improves.

04

Better food tolerance

Gradual improvement in the body's ability to handle previously problematic foods, and a general levelling of overall comfort and well-being.

Early sensations may appear before laboratory indicators change. Sustained results form with consistent, sequential use — not from rushed intervention.

Observation

Monitoring levels

You can follow the program at whatever depth suits you. Three levels of observation are available.

Level 01 · Basic

Self-observation

  • Self-assessment of well-being
  • Food tolerance and digestive comfort
  • Post-meal comfort level
  • Stool regularity and stability
  • Dynamics of any skin manifestations
Level 02 · Standard

With lab tests

  • All basic self-observation indicators
  • Core blood panel for general condition
  • Basic digestive function indicators
  • Recommended before starting and after 4–6 weeks
Level 03 · Extended

Deep assessment

  • All standard indicators
  • Parameters reflecting barrier function
  • Enzymatic activity markers where relevant
  • Metabolic load indicators
  • Selected by specialist or personal preference

What's important to understand

Foundation before everything else

The Gastro-Barrier program is aimed at gradual stabilisation of the mucosal lining and regulation of barrier function. These processes require time — and sustained results form through consistent, sequential use rather than rapid intervention.

A stable gut barrier directly influences how well the body tolerates and responds to subsequent programs. Starting here is often the most effective choice when GI load is present.

Next Step

Metabolic Support

After the gastro-barrier stage, the program logic often moves toward metabolic support — addressing the metabolic and energy layer that a stable gut foundation now makes accessible.
